This release represented some first and last times for me. It was my first homemade album, comprised entirely of demos I had not created to be released. I’ts also the last album of mine whose performances were built on click-tracks. You’ll hear plenty of bleeding click throughout this record if you’re listening for it. And finally, it’s also the first and last album I made using my (long-since-gone) Fostex 8-track hard-drive system. This had a lot to do with the arrangements being generally more sparse.
And I’ll tell you now, that there is a hidden bonus track if you let the CD continue playing after the last song #12) Cool Is Still Cool (Reprise). It’s a very rare example of songwriting of mine whose entire purpose is to get a laugh called, “Lord You’re Ugly When You Sing”.
