Let Go the Heart
In the early 80’s, local Portland real estate tycoon, Ron Stassens, approached me to try some co-writing. I was also recording demos of whatever we would finish if we both liked the song enough. Before long I realized we should maybe move the experiment to the next level. Ron agreed and we began in earnest to more seriously map out a plan for the recordings.
As is the case with me more often than not it seems, I once again did most of the playing and singing on this record. We had several guests onboard as well though like, Tom Grant, Gary Clinton, Bob Stahl, Caren Knight, Clay Smith, Mary Morris, Paul Nelson, Jamie Eoff, and Ron’s brother, Dave Stassens. … All spicey cameos, to be sure!
I was very happy when several songs on this album garnered heavy rotation airplay from my beloved hometown FM station, KINK, in the summer of 1982.
