Voices

This project was another case of having a batch of finished demos and wanting something to do with them. The problem was, this particular batch of recordings was already way more diverse stylewise than I was normally, which was all-over-the-map to begin with. So a friend had the idea of me contacting my favorite local singers to ask if they would be interested in choosing a finished master of mine to put their own lead vocals on.  We would then make a compilation CD with all the different singers and use it to benefit a cause of some kind.

As iffy as the whole proposition sounded, it was only three weeks from the hatched plan and initial phone calls, that we had all the tracks recorded and in the can, from the who’s who of local vocal luminaries including Rindy Ross, Jon Koonce, Valerie Day, Dan Reed, Shirley Nannette, Tom Grant, Tenley Holway, Craig Carothers, Mark Bosnian, and Carlton Jackon (Carlton Jackson?!?!) Yep. It was also quickly determined that our cause would be the C.A.R.E.S child abuse program at Emmanuel Hospital in Portland.

This CD has a hidden track at the end called, “BE THAT WAY”.
